Formation of SHGs/SGSYs

Sundarban Delta Region is comprised of remote rural villages around of 70kms. Lying under the coastal belt of Bay of Bengal, this extremely backward and underprivileged area fall prey to natural calamities like Flood, Cyclone and Soil Erosion. Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) has formed various Self-Help Groups (SHG) and Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) to improve and facilitate the Economic and Social standard of the people of Sundarban through Education, Mother & Childcare, Communication, Sanitation & Hygiene, Safe Drinking Water, Eye Care, Adolescent Care, Institutional Delivery, Child Rights & Prevent Child Trafficking, banish Early Marriage and stop Open Defecation on a permanent basis.

Strengthening of GroupTraining of SHG members

Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) organized Training & Orientation Programmes for each group on Small Savings, Record Keeping, Group Dynamics, Leadership, Women Empowerment including Women & Child Development for Income Generation which makes better Strengthening of Groups.

Bank linkage and Income Generation

Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) made necessary arrangements for Bank support with every Community Group. Savings are regularly deposited in the nearest Nationalized Banks. Most of the Groups having Bank Accounts are able to receive Bank Loans and invest in Poultry Farming, Vegetable Cultivation etc. Goods are easily sold locally and also in town markets. A reasonable amount of profit as steady income is gradually changing the economy of the local Community.
